We’re looking for a WordPress Plugins & Themes Developer to join our fully remote team and evolve under the mentorship of seasoned professionals.
About Melapress
Melapress is a remote-first software startup dedicated to developing WordPress plugins focused on security, user management, and administration. Our solutions are trusted by over 400,000 websites, helping administrators enhance security and streamline user management.
Your Role
As a WordPress developer, you will:
- Theme Development: Enhance and maintain our custom theme for Melapress.com, optimizing for performance, accessibility, and block editor compatibility.
- Integrations & DevOps: Build API-driven connections with services like MailerLite, Freemius, and plugins such as Easy Digital Downloads, as well as our internal reporting tools.
- Plugin Development: Design and improve features across our plugins, including Melapress Login Security and Melapress Role Editor.
- Collaboration: Work with support and product teams to diagnose and resolve issues in the existing codebase.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for all projects you contribute to.
In our dynamic, growing team, you may also take on additional responsibilities and development opportunities as they arise.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of WordPress development experience (plugins and/or themes).
- Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript (ES6+), CSS/Sass, and MySQL.
- Familiarity with WordPress hooks, REST API, and block editor fundamentals.
- Experience with Git, command-line tools, and local/staging environments.
- Ability to work with RESTful APIs and handle JSON/XML data.
- Basic knowledge of DevOps principles (CI/CD, Composer, WP-CLI, caching).
- Self-motivated and comfortable in a remote team environment.
- Strong English communication skills.
