Sr. Software Engineer - Must have Fluency in English, both Written and Verbal - (Web Apps, JavaScript, React Or Vue, HTML, CSS, JS) at FactSet

FactSet is seeking a skilled senior software engineer to join its newly expanded Design System engineering team in São Paulo, Brazil. This team will collaborate with the existing cross-functional Design System team, which is part of the Client Experience and Engagement Engineering department within the Platform Infrastructure Engineering division. The Design System team focuses on creating shared infrastructure that empowers engineers, product developers, and designers to build modern, consistent user interfaces for their applications. As a member of this team, you will work closely with other engineers and cross-functional team members to enhance developer efficiency across the company, ultimately delivering better solutions for FactSet’s clients. Key projects include:

  • Design System component library – FactSet's next-generation UI framework for building responsive and accessible applications

  • Grids – making tabular data accessible for all

  • Charting – modernizing the charting experience

  • Generative AI – improving self-service support for engineering consumers

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, open-source developers, and other stakeholders, to understand business requirements, define project scope, and ensure quality standards are met

  • Drive the end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring timely and efficient delivery

  • Provide hands-on technical expertise and guidance in designing, developing, and implementing software solutions using TypeScript and Vue.js

  • Conduct regular code reviews to maintain code quality, adhere to best practices, and ensure compliance with coding standards

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging web development technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on the team’s projects and making recommendations accordingly

  • Must work hybrid at least 2 days per week

  • Must be fluent in English, both verbal and written

Over time, you will have opportunities to influence the broader FactSet engineering community. For example, by collaborating with the Web Guidance Group or other cross-team working groups, you will gain visibility into how FactSet’s teams make decisions and the ability to share your perspective.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a Software Developer building web applications

Critical Skills:

  • A passion for providing value by enabling other developers

  • In-depth knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)

  • Strong fundamental knowledge of HTML, CSS, JS, and WAI-ARIA in the browser

  • Experience using JavaScript, TypeScript, and a modern web framework such as Vue or React

Highly Desired Skills:

  • Experience with build tools and server-side JS in NodeJS

  • Experience with automated testing, including browser-based tests for accessibility

  • Experience with CI/CD automation and at least one cloud provider

  • Experience with Scrum, Kanban, or Agile software development methodologies

  • Experience working with or contributing to open-source projects

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent experience
