Senior Software Engineer, ML Platform & Data Acquisition (Python) at Speechify Inc
Overview
Speechify is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Acquisition team within the AI division. This role is pivotal in managing all facets of data collection to bolster our model training initiatives. By leveraging a seamless blend of infrastructure, engineering, and research, we aim to construct high-quality datasets at a petabyte scale efficiently and cost-effectively. We are on the lookout for a proficient Senior Software Engineer to contribute to our mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and integrate new audio data sources into our ingestion pipeline.
- Maintain and enhance our cloud-based ingestion infrastructure, utilizing GCP and Terraform.
- Work alongside our Scientists to optimize the balance between cost, throughput, and quality, enabling the delivery of superior data at scale for our next-generation models.
- Engage with the AI Team and Speechify Leadership to develop the dataset roadmap, fueling the advancement of Speechify’s consumer and enterprise offerings.
Qualifications
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Over 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Skilled in bash/Python scripting within Linux environments.
- Experienced with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code, with professional exposure to a major Cloud Provider (GCP preferred).
- Knowledge of web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is advantageous.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and adapting to shifting priorities.
- Excellent communication abilities, both in writing and verbally.
