Senior Manual Software Testing Engineer at Soar Global Pte. Ltd.
Role Purpose:
As a Manual Software Testing Engineer, your primary goal is to ensure the highest quality of software by conducting systematic testing, identifying bugs, and meticulously documenting test outcomes. You will collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to confirm that the software aligns with the specified requirements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Execute detailed test cases and scenarios to validate software functionality.
- Develop and maintain thorough test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Work closely with development teams to reproduce and verify bug fixes.
- Conduct various types of testing, such as functional, regression, usability, and compatibility testing.
- Review software requirements and provide feedback on testability and potential issues.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes.
- Participate in daily scrum meetings and sprint planning sessions.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in manual software testing.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of SDLC/STLC and various testing methodologies (e.g., functional, regression, integration, smoke, UAT).
- Experience in creating, executing, and reporting test cases.
- Proficiency in bug tracking tools such as Jira.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Basic knowledge of SQL.
- Familiarity with automation tools like Selenium.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification.
