Working remotely changes your life forever

Humbly Confident Product Manager at YNAB

About YNAB and Why We’re Hiring

We are YNAB (pronounced “why-nab”), a financial education company that empowers people worldwide to spend their money confidently on what matters most to them. For over two decades, YNAB’s proven method has transformed lives—helping people pay off debt, strengthen relationships, achieve goals, reduce stress, and sleep better. Don’t just take our word for it—check out our vibrant communities on Facebook, TikTok, and Reddit, or browse through our glowing app reviews. You’ll quickly see why people love YNAB and why we’re so passionate about creating tools that truly make a difference.
This mission is no small feat for our product teams, who tackle complex challenges ranging from the psychology of spending to the nuances of Open Banking regulations. We have a dedicated product group focused on enhancing the “spendful” experience in our app, and we’re thrilled to bring on another Product Manager to join this effort. If you’re passionate about helping YNAB users spend with confidence, faster and with less friction, you might be the perfect fit for this role.
What We’re Looking For:
We have five non-negotiable requirements for this role. You must:
  • Have at least five years of experience as a Product Manager.
  • Be experienced in user-facing product work, especially with cross-platform B2C SaaS applications.
  • Love cross-functional product development (we mean really cross-functional!).
  • Be skilled with AI tools—prompt engineering, custom GPTs, and rapid prototyping should be part of your toolkit. You don’t just use AI to assist your work; you leverage it to amplify your impact.
  • Live within the Pacific Time Zone (UTC-8) to the Central European Time Zone (UTC+1). (Imagine a world map stretching from PT to CET—those time zones are all acceptable.)
Beyond these requirements, we’re open to diverse experiences and skills. However, the following experiences might help you succeed in this role:
  • Working with complex, data-rich applications; mature codebases; the psychology of habit formation; fintech; wellness apps; remote, distributed teams; Continuous Discovery Habits; and research best practices (usability testing, interviews, A/B tests, prototypes, etc.).
Life at YNAB:
Before diving deeper into the role, let’s talk about what it’s like to work at YNAB. Founded in 2004, we’re a self-funded, profitable company committed to long-term growth. Our Core Value Manifesto is the foundation of our culture. If it resonates with you, you’ll likely thrive here.
We’re an equal-opportunity employer, and we believe diversity in backgrounds, abilities, beliefs, and experiences is key to our success. We’re passionate about fostering a welcoming, supportive, and collaborative environment for all team members. We’re proud to have been recognized as a great place to work by Fortune, including being ranked #1 twice in a row!
Your Future Team:
As a Product Manager, you’ll collaborate with a variety of talented individuals. Here are a few of your closest teammates:
Hannah, your Group Product Manager, is passionate about building empowered, innovative teams. She’s deeply committed to helping people transform their financial lives and has a knack for alliteration and accents.
Jacob loves solving tough problems with cross-functional teams. He’s always exploring the latest tech and enjoys meditating, reading, and spicy food.
Sarah thrives on solving complex problems and fostering connections. She’s an avid nature explorer and sci-fi enthusiast.
You’ll also work with developers like Marlon and Christina, designers like Adam and Heidi, and other key team members like Aaron (Director of Product), Eva (Data Scientist), Kody (Product Marketer), and Erin (Curriculum Manager).

How You’ll Work at YNAB

Here’s what you can expect from life at YNAB:
Work from (Almost) Anywhere:
We’re a fully remote team, and for this role, you’ll need to be located between the Pacific Time Zone (UTC-8) and Central European Time Zone (UTC+1). A reliable internet connection is a must.
Four-Day Workweek:
We work four days a week (100% paid!) and prioritize work-life balance. While there are busy seasons, we encourage taking extra time off when needed.
Flexible Schedule:
Most meetings are scheduled between 12-3 pm Eastern Time (16:00-19:00 UTC) Monday-Thursday. Outside of meetings, you’re free to set your own schedule.
Generous Vacation Policy:
We require a minimum of three weeks of vacation per year, with five weeks being the norm. Plus, we take a company-wide December Break.
In-Person Meetups:
We value in-person connections. You’ll have the chance to meet your team at least once a year, whether at a small-team meetup or our company retreat. Past retreats have taken us to Costa Rica, Montana, and Cape Cod.

We’re committed to helping you grow. Whether it’s conferences, courses, or dedicated learning time, we support your development.
