About the Role
We are seeking a talented Founding Engineer who is passionate about creating groundbreaking solutions from the ground up. You will lead the development of our core technology, with a strong emphasis on backend systems for AI-powered vendor communication and automated procurement workflows.
Our vision extends beyond basic automation: we are building a buyer-focused AI agent and procurement platform, paving the way for a future dominated by AI-to-AI transactions.
Your contributions will directly influence our pilot customers, shaping their experience through rapid feedback, agile iterations, and user-focused product improvements.
What You'll Do
- System Architecture & Rapid Prototyping: Design scalable and flexible architecture tailored for early-stage startups. Quickly prototype solutions to test hypotheses with pilot customers.
- AI-Driven Backend Development: Build and optimize backend systems that integrate advanced AI technologies (LLM, Generative AI) to automate vendor interactions and procurement processes. Develop an autonomous agent for vendor research and meeting coordination, leveraging LLM and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) to understand requirements and suggest optimal solutions.
- End-to-End Ownership: Manage integrations (STT, LLM, TTS, Zoom API), oversee deployment pipelines (CI/CD), and enhance system scalability and performance. Our infrastructure relies on AWS (Lambda, Docker, Kubernetes), PostgreSQL, and Vector DB.
- Pilot Customer Collaboration: Work closely with early customers, gather feedback, and iterate quickly to refine the product experience.
Your Skills & Experience
Required:
- Strong foundation in engineering (CS fundamentals, software architecture).
- Proven experience in backend development (Python, Node.js, APIs, cloud infrastructure).
- Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and Next.js for building modern web applications.
- Familiarity with modern cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).
- Interest or experience in cutting-edge AI technologies, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and rapid prototyping.
- Startup mindset: resourceful, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Excellent English communication skills.
Bonus Points for:
- Experience designing and implementing evaluation and monitoring frameworks for AI workflows.
- Experience with lightweight development using Supabase and Vercel.
- Experience with speech recognition (STT), text-to-speech (TTS), and conversational AI platforms.
- Experience with real-time communication using WebSocket and WebRTC.
- Previous startup or early-stage product experience.
- Experience working closely with pilot customers to iterate quickly.
- Extensive experience using AI-driven editors like Cursor for software development.
