We’re looking for an Engineering Backend Team Lead to lead and inspire a team of talented engineers, take ownership of critical tier-1 services, and help scale monday.com’s data architecture to meet the demands of our growing platform.

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional development.
• Enhance monday.com’s data layer to create a flexible, customizable foundation that supports a wide range of applications and use cases.
• Drive the evolution of our architecture and engineering practices to accommodate the increasing scale of users, features, and data.
• Design and build mission-critical tier-1 services capable of handling tens of thousands of requests per second with four-nine availability.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions seamlessly into the platform and support diverse business needs.
• Our tech stack includes: Node.js, Cassandra, Kafka, CDC, MySQL, and Ruby on Rails.

• Proven experience managing a team and leading projects from conception to completion.
• Strong background in backend development, with expertise in designing and maintaining scalable, high-performance systems and APIs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A growth mindset, supported by strong analytical, inquisitive, and data-driven problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and adapt to shifting priorities and requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to break down complex challenges into actionable, manageable tasks.
