Account Executive, Enterprise at Retool


WHY WE NEED YOU


We’re growing fast, and to help us achieve our ambitious goals, you’ll take charge of Retool’s most significant revenue stream: enterprise sales. You’ll work closely with our Sales Development team to build a robust pipeline and partner with our talented Sales Engineers to secure six and seven-figure deals. 


You’re someone who thrives in leading high-stakes deals, managing a portfolio of clients, and creating strategies that future team members can follow. You’re skilled at engaging with engineers—our primary buyers—and can confidently navigate technical conversations. You’ll bring a wealth of sales expertise, best practices, and a relentless drive to close major deals efficiently. 


WHO YOU'LL COLLABORATE WITH


You’ll join forces with our Sales Engineers (who are engineers at heart!), fellow Account Executives, and our SDR team. You’ll participate in sales forecasting meetings, collaborate with sales leadership, the Head of Sales, CEO, and CTO to close landmark deals, and work cross-functionally with Marketing and Engineering teams.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE:

  • Identify and qualify leads, transforming them into high-value opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with top executives to understand their needs and streamline the deal process
  • Take ownership of the closing process, including negotiations and procurement activities
  • Ensure Salesforce is updated with accurate customer information, forecasts, and pipeline data to enhance business insights
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets
  • Collaborate with technical stakeholders and executives to uncover opportunities where Retool can accelerate Engineering efforts
  • Partner with sales engineers and the executive team to build relationships across all levels of key accounts
  • Work with Engineering to identify and implement new features that enhance Retool’s value proposition

THE SKILLS YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE:

  • A proven track record of consistently achieving quotas of $1.5M+ in ARR annually
  • 10+ years of overall sales experience, with 3-5+ years focused on enterprise-level closing in developer tools, cloud infrastructure, databases, or business intelligence
  • Demonstrated success in driving consistent activity, pipeline growth, and quota attainment
  • A solution-oriented sales approach and the ability to manage complex sales cycles
  • Strong presentation, listening, organizational, and contact management skills
  • A proactive approach to understanding technical concepts and leading technical discussions with stakeholders at all levels
