The Role: Account Executive

We’re seeking an Account Executive to drive new sales and help universities and high schools expand their donor base using Almabase. You’ll manage marketing-qualified leads generated through inbound, outbound, cross-sell, and partner channels, guiding them from initial contact to contract signing. Post-signature, our Customer Success team will take over to ensure their success.

While most sales occur remotely via Zoom, you’ll also have opportunities to represent Almabase at US conferences, meet potential clients in person, and close deals face-to-face.

This is a fully remote role, but you must be based in the US and available to work from 8 am to 5 pm EST.

Compensation:

  • $125k OTE ($75k base + $50k on-target commissions)
  • Uncapped commissions (one AE achieved 200% OTC last year)
  • Annual quota: $1.25M total contract value (TCV), translating to $415k - $460k ARR
  • Commission rate: 5% of TCV, accelerating to 7.5% for over-quota quarters ($312k TCV)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet KPIs: Revenue closed, conversion rates, and pipeline contributions from conferences.
  • Conduct qualification calls to assess BANT (Budget, Authority, Need, Timing).
  • Deliver product demos, present pricing, and handle contract negotiations.
  • Nurture leads with high-quality follow-ups.
  • Collaborate with Solutions Consultants and VP of Sales for technical or complex negotiations.
  • Provide feedback to the product team based on prospect insights.
  • Attend conferences to generate 10% of your pipeline.
  • Work closely with partner organizations on co-selling opportunities.

Requirements:

Must-Have Skills:
  • 2-3 years of experience in:
    • B2B software sales (closing deals) to mid-market/enterprise customers in nonprofit/education OR
    • Fundraising/Major Gifts experience in nonprofits or higher education.
  • Proven track record of closing deals/gifts above $20K+.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools or methodologies.
  • Experience with CRMs like HubSpot or donor platforms.
  • Comfortable working in a metrics-driven environment.
  • Prior experience negotiating contracts or donor agreements.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Exposure to solution or consultative selling.
  • Ability to leverage AI tools effectively.

Your First Year at Almabase:

In 3 Months:
  • Set clear targets for deals closed and revenue generated.
  • Participate in weekly deal reviews with the VP of Sales.
  • Attend 1-2 industry conferences to build your network.
In 6 Months:
  • Refine your approach based on past learnings.
  • Contribute to setting next quarter’s targets and strategy.
  • Earn a $25K OTE increase and promotion to Senior Account Executive.
In 12 Months:
  • Shape sales strategy and collaborate with leadership.
  • Continue advancing your career based on performance.
