We are on the lookout for a Managing Editor who has a passion for outstanding writing and recognizes AI as an innovative resource for boosting creativity. At GrowthX, you will partner with industry giants like Reddit and Ramp, utilizing AI to enhance the content production process while maintaining high standards.
(This position is fully remote, requiring only 4 hours of overlap with the West Coast.)

The Position: Managing Editor
We invite a Managing Editor to take charge of client accounts, collaborating closely as an integral part of their teams. You will immerse yourself in each client’s industry, challenges, history, and aspirations to devise and implement content strategies that engage their target audiences while generating impactful results.
Your Collaborators
As the Managing Editor, you'll have a wealth of resources available to support your efforts. Teaming up with a Research Specialist, you will gain insights through comprehensive research on client needs. Our GTM Strategist will also be on hand to assist you in crafting the content roadmap that aligns with the overarching marketing and GTM strategies of our clients. Moreover, you will manage a cohort of Freelancers with expertise in SEO, industry knowledge, and technical writing. Lastly, our Automation Team will support you in scaling content operations with the aid of AI and automation technologies.
Daily Responsibilities
Here’s a glimpse of how you’ll be spending your week:
- 20% - Client Meetings: Regularly engage with clients to grasp their goals, challenges, and evolving requirements.
- 20% - Strategy and Content Development: Formulate and enhance content strategies, ensuring alignment with client objectives and audience preferences.
- 40% - Content Creation and Editing via AI Workflows: Utilize AI tools for content generation and editing, taking hands-on action when necessary to uphold quality.
- 15% - Customer Account Project Management: Organize and solicit assistance from internal teams, oversee deliverables, and manage freelance writers and designers to ensure smooth operation of content initiatives.
- 5% - Knowledge Sharing: Collaborate with internal teams to exchange insights and refine content processes.
Qualifications
Core Responsibilities & Required Skills
- Content Development & Strategy: Spearhead and adapt content strategies that resonate with client objectives through detailed research and analysis. Manage freelance writers and oversee editorial workflows, ensuring quality and consistency. A willingness to utilize AI tools in content creation is essential.
- Client Engagement: Gain a comprehensive understanding of each client’s business, industry, and audience to develop effective content solutions. Maintain regular communication with clients to gather feedback and discuss new requirements.
- Project & Program Coordination: Supervise content programs, juggle various projects, maintain timelines, and track deliverables to ensure the timely delivery of high-caliber content.
- Internal Team Collaboration: Work in collaboration with various internal team members—including Research Specialists, GTM Strategists, Freelancers, and the Automation Team—to fulfill client requirements.
- Content Quality Control: Proofread all content before delivery to uphold high quality and adherence to client guidelines.
- SEO Expertise: Elevate content through a sound understanding of SEO principles, including technical SEO, semantic search, on-page, and off-page strategies to encourage organic growth and substantiate SEO outcomes with measurable metrics. Proficiency in tools such as STAT, Ahrefs, and SEMrush is required.
- Data-Driven Approach: Employ data-driven strategies and analysis to shape content strategies, leveraging insights from quantitative and qualitative data. Familiarity with platforms such as Google Analytics is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with AI Content Tools: Experience with AI applications is a plus, with a strong eagerness to learn (training will be provided).
- Prompt Engineering Experience: Familiarity with prompt engineering is advantageous.
- Design Software Skills: Proficiency with design tools like Figma, Photoshop, and/or Midjourney is preferred.
Perks
- Compensation: $36,000 to $80,000 USD annually (based on experience and other considerations)
- Remote Flexibility: Work from any location, provided you overlap with US Pacific Time for at least 4 hours.
