We are an internationally recognized Dutch family-owned enterprise specializing in polymer and chemical engineering, established in 1984. With our primary operations based across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, we are an SME that has recently navigated a substantial growth phase and are now focusing on consolidation. We're in the process of launching a small office in Asia or forming a remote team dedicated to back-office and accounting operations.
We are seeking an experienced and adaptable controller for a pivotal role within our organization.
Our company culture is informal yet hard-working, enriched by a diverse workforce comprising team members from various nationalities. English is the primary language of communication throughout the company. Many colleagues will work remotely from distinct nations in Eurasia and Africa, and you will also have the option to work partially remotely. Although we anticipate a significant number of working hours, we offer flexibility regarding their timing.
Our group comprises multiple entities worldwide, operating under various tax and accounting jurisdictions. We require a controller who will collaborate with internal bookkeepers and external accountants to ensure precise and timely reporting for local authorities, financial institutions, credit agencies, and our management team.
Currently, we are revitalizing our systems and protocols for financial accounting, business control, and various compliance obligations. This role will play a crucial part in developing and establishing the appropriate systems to guide the bookkeepers and monitor quality and controls.
Internally, you will be the principal person in charge of maintaining the complete set of accounts for all entities, including those in Hong Kong and internationally. You will receive assistance from one FTE Bookkeeper split between a junior and a senior bookkeeper based outside of Hong Kong.
To ensure seamless operations across departments, you will need to monitor payables and receivables closely, ensuring proper timing both prior to and following actual cash flows. We are implementing enhancements to streamline the flow of information between our various departments.
The business control responsibilities will center around cost analysis, monitoring customer and product profitability, cash flow optimization, cost reduction, and providing timely management reporting to aid decision-making. You will also occasionally assist with tender bids or investment calculations.
