About the role
In this SRE role, you will play a key part in evolving and strengthening a platform that serves millions of daily visitors. Your main focus will be on enhancing platform observability and security. You'll work alongside development teams to identify and address performance bottlenecks, particularly in Node.js applications. Your expertise in both software development and infrastructure will be essential in improving development environments and workflows. 

Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, highly available systems.
  • Enhance monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
  • Automate operational processes to minimize manual tasks.
  • Partner with development teams to embed reliability into the software lifecycle.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues across production services.
  • Take part in on-call rotations to support essential systems.
  • Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
  • Contribute to infrastructure and tooling improvements.
  • Optimize Node.js application performance and resource usage.
  • Promote reliability, performance, and security best practices.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong Node.js development skills and familiarity with its ecosystem.
  • Extensive experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Solid grasp of networking, operating systems, and distributed systems.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
  • Experience using cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture.
  • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
  • Background in on-call duties and production incident management.
  • Knowledge of security fundamentals and best practices. 

Where and when:

This is a fully remote role within the EU.

We offer flexible hours but maintain core collaboration hours from 10:00 to 15:00 CET to ensure effective teamwork and communication.

  • Daily virtual stand-ups are required, but you can otherwise manage your own schedule.
