Notary Seminar Instructor at National Notary Association (for profit)

Applicants must reside in or near the greater Sacramento, Santa Rosa, or Bay Areas. As a Seminar Instructor, your primary role will be to conduct and teach live California seminars for new and renewing notaries, preparing them for the California Notary Exam. You will deliver high-quality training and exceptional customer service, ensuring a professional experience for all participants. This position involves traveling to various locations within the designated region and requires a flexible Monday through Saturday schedule. Ideal candidates will possess outstanding customer service skills, a comfort with public interaction, and the ability to maintain a flexible schedule with regular road travel. This role is perfect for outgoing individuals who excel at customer service and can provide clear, professional responses to attendee inquiries.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete new hire instructor training within the designated timeframe, covering notary laws and best practices.
  • Deliver a prepared seminar presentation effectively within the allotted time.
  • Conduct live seminars as scheduled, aiming for an 88% or higher California Notary Exam pass rate.
  • Adhere to scripted language during seminars to meet state-regulated guidelines.
  • Participate in team meetings as required at NNA headquarters in Chatsworth, CA.
  • Process necessary seminar paperwork for each assignment promptly.
  • Deliver excellent and professional customer service to all seminar attendees.
  • Promote and sell notary supplies and NNA products and services to attendees.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a current California Notary Commission.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree or comparable work experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel to various seminar locations, reliable transportation, and proof of current vehicle insurance are mandatory. Some overnight travel may be required.
  • Reliable at-home internet connection for work-related tasks.
  • Experience in training, adult education, or extensive facilitation.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex topics simply.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Professional experience as a Notary is advantageous.
  • High self-motivation, professional maturity, and a proven track record of independent goal achievement.
  • Ability to think on your feet and address questions beyond the prepared materials.
  • Resourcefulness to maintain composure and adapt in various situations.
  • Superior customer service skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing in a Microsoft environment is required.
  • Experience working independently, remotely, or telecommuting is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Capability to drive and commute for extended periods as needed.
  • Ability to stand, speak, and present for up to 8 hours daily.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs. for equipment setup and breakdown at seminars.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

COMPENSATION
  • $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
  • $16.50 per hour for travel time
