Primary Focus: OpenSearch and ElasticSearch
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain expertise in data components such as Cassandra, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Valkey, Memcache, Pulsar, and SQS, applying this knowledge to operate and automate well-configured clusters.
- Demonstrate proficiency in managing databases within Kubernetes environments and handling container images.
- Build infrastructure services that empower CrowdStrike engineering teams to adopt a full devops approach.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Customer Support to resolve urgent production issues promptly, regardless of timing.
- Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of petabytes of essential business data.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in configuration management, especially Chef.
- Strong scripting skills in Python and bash.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale data stores, including Cassandra, ElasticSearch/Opensearch, Kafka, Zookeeper, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, Valkey, Memcache, Pulsar, and SQS.
- Background in managing extensive, mission-critical Linux systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, ideally Amazon Web Services, GCP, and OCI.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with both local and distributed teams.
- A history of sound decision-making, especially under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Balanced independence and confidence, with the wisdom to seek team support when needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, such as Computer Science, CIS, or Engineering.
