About the Position
Our Billing team's Collections unit is focused on securing timely payments from our client workplaces, such as healthcare facilities. As a Billing Representative, your primary mission is to facilitate prompt payment of invoices from your assigned accounts. Since consistent cash flow is vital to our operations, this position plays a crucial role in the company's financial health. You will engage with workplaces via phone and email to track payments, secure payment commitments, and confirm that these commitments are met. You'll collaborate with both external contacts and internal departments to resolve any obstacles to payment, working alongside teams like Billing Disputes, Sales, and Customer Support to meet key objectives.
What You'll Do:
- Track account activity to pinpoint overdue balances
- Analyze historical payment data for each outstanding invoice
- Contact accounts payable personnel, administrators, and other relevant parties via phone and email regarding overdue and upcoming payments
- Determine the underlying reasons for delayed payment
- Address and resolve billing issues
- Provide regular updates on collection progress and accounts receivable status
- Coordinate with the sales team to keep client contract details and other information current
- Keep detailed records of all customer interactions and payment updates
- Onboard new workplace accounts by initiating contact, introducing yourself, and gathering necessary information to establish a positive relationship
- Recognize high-risk accounts and escalate them to management when necessary
- Foster strong relationships with workplaces by clearly explaining billing policies, NET terms, dispute procedures, and setting proper expectations
- Develop SMART action plans for accounts with delinquent payments
- Strive to achieve a quarterly collection rate of 95%
